Buy any track and the play limit disappears forever. Bought songs survive cancellation. Want to support an artist more? Buy a credit bundle, from $5 to $100. Bigger bundles carry lower per-song fees, so more of your money reaches the artist.
Payment processors charge per transaction. A $1 song bought one-at-a-time burns ~33¢ in fees, so the artist gets $0.67. Bundle that $1 into a $10 credit purchase and the per-song fee drops to ~6¢, and the artist gets $0.94. Buy a $50 ACH bundle and it's $0.99. Your money behaves better the bigger the block you move.
The auto-purchase mechanic at month-end exists because we'd rather your unused credits go to artists you actually love than sit on our books as expired margin. Spotify and Apple Music keep your subscription money when you don't listen. We'd rather give it to the artist you played the most that month who you don't already own.
The play limits at every tier, even Superfan, are intentional, and they reset on the 1st of every calendar month. We're about to be flooded with AI-generated music. Limits drive you toward what you genuinely value. Pay for what you like, don't pay for what you don't.

0% platform fee on personal license sales. The artist's payout is the song price minus payment processing fees only, roughly $0.91 of every $1 song at the smallest credit bundle, climbing to about $0.99 at the $50 ACH bundle. We only take a 10% fee on commercial and exclusive licenses, where the platform does real brokerage work. Compare to Bandcamp, which takes a 15% platform fee plus payment processing.
The play limit on that track is removed permanently. You can download it and use it according to the license you purchased. No DRM, no expiration.
Three real reasons. One: your monthly subscription already includes purchase credits (Fan $1, Premium $3, Superfan $10 per month). Spend those first: every "buy" from your monthly allowance IS a real sale to the artist. Two: buying a song with credits unlocks it forever, even if you cancel your subscription later. Three: the play limit on subscriptions still exists (it's the conversion mechanism); buying removes it permanently for that track.
At month-end, whatever is left of your monthly budget automatically buys the tracks you played most that month but do not own yet. Only what cannot buy anything lapses: if the leftover is smaller than the cheapest eligible track you played, or you already own everything you played, the remainder expires. Credit bundles are different: bundle credits never expire. If you want more than your monthly allowance, buy a credit bundle (from $5 to $100); those credits never expire.
Long-term, yes. We're building toward ecosystem-wide credits so your Majiks allowance could also pay for things like meeting transcripts, contact lookups, or AI radio ad generation across the UC suite. Today, credits are Majiks-only. The schema uses your SSO identity so the federation upgrade lands cleanly when it ships.
